Broadway & Buffalo St, Milwaukee

I finally had a chance to weave during the day. I chose a construction site because there are only two seasons in this city: construction & winter. I was initially afraid that the cops would drive by and get me in trouble; on the contrary, three police cars drove by me and none of them stopped. I did get a couple of queries from people walking by on the street. One woman asked if I was protesting the construction going on, while another couple asked if I could do this to all of the construction sites in the city.
I was quicker with this one- I’m prepping my lengths of yarn at home so that all I have to do on site is tape up a loom and start weaving. I’ve made myself accept the fact that for now, if I’m going to work with yarn, I won’t be able to cover a large area in a reasonable amount of time. For now, yarn it is, maybe next year I’ll experiment with different materials to weave with. I just love that I can create any surface into my own surface.
